Job Links began in 1995 as a project of Townshippers Association but such was the demand for services that additional partners were soon needed. The Eastern Townships School Board assumed management of Job Links in 1997, and with funding from Human Resources Development Canada, continued to offer support for job seekers. Since 1999, with the transfer of responsibility for employment services from the federal government to the provincal, Emploi-Québec has been financially supporting Job Links. More recently, the Education Ministry of Quebec has also provided some financial support.
Today our experienced counselors meet with our clients one on one at our office and the surrounding Emploi Quebec offices. They explore our clients’ interests, abilities, and values. The counselors help clients understand the job market, the required training, and the resources that are available to them. Once that process is finished an action plan is built for our client.
